How to fit a horse head collar
Learning how to fit and attach a horse collar is essential for the safety of both you and your horse. The horse or pony headcollar will be sized with the size of the animal in mind so as not to cause them discomfort. Ask our friendly employees at Tally Ho Farm and we will be happy to help.
Put a lead rope over your horse before the head collar goes on, so that you can control them if they get startled. Stand to the left side of the animal so as not to be in their blind spot and risk scaring them. Horse halters are designed to be fitted on the left side of the horse. Allow your animal to have a good sniff of your hands and the collar so they are made to feel comfortable.
